Hollywood often portrays mediation in films and television as amusing or engaging. The mediator is shown as someone who is manipulating both parties to put an end to their dispute. However a good mediator is someone who can recognize and understand the positions of each party.
God tells us we are in rebellion against Him. Proverbs 17:11 tells us that it is called sin and we ALL are sinners. “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” Romans 3:23 (KJV)
Job recognized this and he was in need of a mediator between him and God. Job 9:32-35 Just as we do today, Job’s mediator must be someone who is fully man to understand his sin, and someone who is fully God to understand God’s holiness and judgement. There is only one person who can fulfill this task. Jesus.
We don’t need any earthly priest as an intercessory between us the sinner, and God.
We have a high priest that is so much better and,
His Name is Jesus
