Prepare
So put away all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander.
1 Peter 2:1 (ESV)
Daily Devotional
December 1st
As we prepare ourselves for this Christmas season we are busy with decorating, food preparations, gift shopping, watching our favorite Christmas movies, Christmas plays, parties and listening to our favorite Christmas songs. Our lives can become so hectic as we attempt to fit into our schedule all of our favorite activities for the season. So what is the best way to prepare ourselves for such a busy time in our lives? The same way we should prepare ourselves each and every day. We start with God’s word. Each and every day pick up God’s word and read what He has for you. You may feel as if you don’t have time for Him. He has time for you. Before that we should prepare our hearts. How? With prayer. We should purify our hearts and minds through prayer and confession.
Therefore put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.
James 1:21 (ESV)
Then read the Bible. God will bless you. That is His promise to you.
Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear, and who keep what is written in it, for the time is near.
Revelation 1:3 (ESV)
