The Glories of

Christ

December 5th

knowing that you were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited from your forefathers, but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ.  For He was foreknown before the foundation of the world but has appeared in these last times for the sake of you 21 who through Him are believers in God, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.

Daily Devotional

There is power in the blood! This precious blood of the sinless and perfect Lamb of God, Jesus Christ, redeemed (purchased) sinners from the curse of the law and bondage of sin. His perfect spotless life qualified Him to be a sacrifice for His people. His holy blood was poured out for those who by faith have received Him. He purified for Himself a people for His own possession. Does this encourage you to know that as a believer in Christ, you are a treasure of His own possession? Friends, you are and always will be in His Holy grip. Even before the foundation of the entire world, He was chosen as a means of our redemption and given a people for His glory. Acts 2:23 reminds us that Jesus was delivered to us by the foreknowledge and predetermined plan of God. What an amazing truth of the sovereignty of God, that He set His affection on His Son and set His affection on us so that our faith and hope in Him will be revealed to us in the last day.
